Competencies:
The American Red Cross standard First Aid Course. This course covers responding to an emergency rescue breathing and CPR. The first aid section addresses control bleeding, wounds , burns, and immobilizing broken bones. Sudden illnesses such as diabetic emergencies and seizures are covered as well.

Aerial Boom Lift

Prerequisites: Forklift Safety
Competencies:
Aerial platforms, Boom Lifts, and Extended Reach Forklift are driven and operated during this course. Safety standards are reviewed and hands-on practice is the focus of this course.

OSHA 10

Competencies:
This OSHA 10 class is a DOL Certification Class, That covers topics such as OSHA inspection processes, hand and power tools safety, PPE, electrical safety, and other construction related topics.

Forklift Safety

Competencies:
State and Federal OSHA standards are covered as well as safe driving techniques. This course is hands-on. Participants will be directed and coached though obstacles. Driving, picking, and placing loads are practiced.

Plan Reading

This course will familiarize the student with the basic skills of reading Blueprints. This includes; how to find and understand Legends, Compass, Scale Ruler, and how to locate specific items.

Scaffold User

Competencies:
Complies with OSHA standards for employees who work on scaffolds. This course covers loading, working on and under, and the occupational hazards associated with scaffolds.

Traffic Control

Competencies:
The “Flagging” class is basic requirement for working in the right of way. Both the Cal Trans and Watch manual are covered in details. The course is designed as a minimum requirement for addressing taper lengths and advanced warning for heavy and highway work. Course covers Cal OSHA requirements for flagging.

Scaffold Builder

Competencies:
Complies with fed and state OSHA standards for employees who erect and dismantle scaffolding, supported scaffold, rolling tower, and access systems are covered as well other construction related systems.

Skid Steer Safety

Credit Hours: 8

Competencies:
Engineering principles, operating safety, loader control is the focus of the first half of this course. The second half is practical application of attachments.

Construction Math

Competencies:
This course will familiarize the student with the basic math processes to solve Fractions to Decimals. Standard math Formulas to solve problems in Area and Volume in Construction materials. Identify, Set-up and use horizontal and vertical measuring Equipment to perform Basic layout, Squaring, and grade measurements.

Concrete Repair

Competencies:
This course will aid students in the different type of concrete repair and related processes. How to prevent surface defects and remedies for fixing concrete defects. Students will gain knowledge on Grinding, Sacking and Patching walls and proper usage of PPE.

Form Setting Techniques

Competencies:
This course will familiarize the student with the basic forming hardware, tools, and safety procedures and PPE. Students will gain knowledge in Sub-grade Preparation, Line Setting and Forming Techniques, Pour in Place Walls, Batter Boards, Curb and Gutter, Driveway Approaches, Sidewalk and Handicapped Access Ramp.

Finishing Tech. I

This course will aid students in identifying common tools used for placement and finishing concrete. Recognize hazards on jobsite. Concrete procedures, Consolidation and Control Joints. Placement and Finishing Techniques on Floors, Panels, Decks and Driveways. Proper procedures on Walk-Behind Power Trowel.

Finishing Tech. II

Placement and Finishing Techniques in Stairs, Curb and Gutter, Approaches, Sidewalks and Handicapped Access Ramps.

Machine Operations/Concrete Sawing

Competencies:
This course covers the basis of Power Trowels operations, Vibratory and Laser Screed. Students will gain knowledge in operating procedures in these equipment. Student will also identify proper procedures in Concrete Saw cutting.

Decorative Concrete

Credit Hours: 40
Prerequisites: None
Competencies:
This course covers Concrete and Overlay Imprinted Systems, Colors Hardeners, Release Agents, Admixtures, Acid Staining, Micro-topping System. This course will also give the student different stamping techniques. This is a Hands-on course.

Respiratory Awareness

Credit Hours: 8
Prerequisites: None
Competencies:
The respiratory protection course instructs students in the correct use of the respirators when there may be hazardous materials/substance present. They will learn exposure guides, Different kinds of respirators, proper use and respirator program requirements.

Confined Space Awareness

Credit Hours: 8

Competencies:
This course is a condense version of the 32-hour permit required class. This course is designed for those who do not work in confined spaces but have to be familiar with the dangers of confined spaces. Topics covered included: Hazardous Atmospheres, Pre-entry Testing, Physical Hazards and Controlling Hazards.
